Rooms are large and have great views from the balcony (if it's a clear day). Positives: * great view *large room *warm blankets *hot water *wifi works Negatives: *rooms are freezing cold- you can hire an ineffective heater for 200RS per night * quite far from town, about a 30 min uphill walk *toilet didn't flush *lots of stairs that were shallow (some of our group struggled with the altitude and the stairs Overall i'd say it's a basic hotel with large rooms. the location wasn't that fabulous other than the views. Whilst there was hot water the rooms were icy cold so you weren't inclined to use the shower and freeze to death on the way out. *

We stayed here for 2 nights. (Nov19) It appeared we were given an upgraded room. The rooms were spacious and neat. The toilet and bath was small. There was a big living with an attached kitchen. ( without utensils or stove). There is a kettle. The best thing was grest looks in front of hotel room. The tea gardens and slopes of Darjeeling. The staff were very helpful and attended to our needs. The annoying thing was on 2 nd day night there was no water supply to entire 2 nd floor. we were asked to use rooms in 3 rd floor to finish our morning ablutions.(Darjeeling faces scarcity of water always). Also the shower curtains in our room was too dirty and appeared and to be covered with mould here and there. The two lamps on either side of cot were worn our and too old. Needs replacement. Bought the list of pros and cons to notice of a gentleman who was there at the time of check out.Has promised to fix it. The breakfast was good and adequate and tasty. Though the hotel is little away from city center(Its the best part being away from congested and dirty city center) its easy to travel to city center and back to hotel by just paying Rs 10/- on taxis passing that way. Ask security ,he will help.It works out sooooo cheap. Little attention to rooms can keep this hotel busy. Overall nice stay.Dont miss rope way ride, Budda pagoda, Nehru road,Tiger hill sunrise. Toy train ride passing through the dirty roads is a waste of time . Avoid this outregeous costly affair.( Rs 1600) for 40 mnts of dirt road ride. The real beauty of Darjeeling is out side the city. Ask tour operators about TTLL tour.Rs 2500 for a jeep for a day. .

We stayed for 2 nights during our trip to Darjeeling. It is highly recommended if you are travelling with family. The room we took had a view to the valley. The staff are very courteous and accomodating. Always will to serve with a smile. The food is also good, though the buffet is a bit expensive. I would recommend order alacarte instead of buffet. Breakfast spread was also good and decent quality. The room was clean and spacious. We ordered extra bed and all 4 of us were accomodated in one room. Our room had great view of the valley and the tea estate. Walkable distance to the station if you have booked for the famous toy train trip. Overall a great experience.
